Agustín Víctor Casasola was a typographer turned reporter then became one of Mexico’s most significant photographers of the early 20th century. Casasola was one of the founders of the Mexican Association of Press Photographers. His photographs of the Mexican Revolution are some of the most notable documentation of Mexican history, often compared to Mathew Brady and his U.S. Civil War photos. A large selection of his photographs were donated to NMMA in 1991.
