Venue Rental
Host your next event at a venue that is synonymous with Mexican art and culture. Revenue from rentals helps sustain NMMA's programming and exhibitions.
Located in the heart of Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood, the National Museum of Mexican Art is a fantastic venue for corporate, foundation, and community-based organizations’ events. The Museum offers rental opportunities at corporate and nonprofit rates.
The Courtyard
Your guests will be welcomed with floor to ceiling windows in the Courtyard, which leads into our spacious and flexible event space known as the West Wing. The Courtyard is ideal for a small reception and/or registration, and can be combined with the West Wing, a large and impressive gathering room. This space is just steps away from our exhibition galleries and TiendaTzintzuntzán, the Museum’s gift shop.

The West Wing
The West Wing features a wheelchair accessible hardwood stage, complete lighting and sound systems, and nearby access rest room facilities, making it ideal for performances, presentations, and events.

Board Room
The Museum's handsome Board Room features a large window that overlooks Harrison Park. It holds up to 35 people and is located on the second floor. It is available for meetings or classes.
Event Appropriateness
NMMA venue rental is available to organizations that include businesses, corporations, nonprofits, foundations, arts organizations, community organizations, professional, business and alumni associations, universities and schools.
All nonprofit organizations must present documentation of their 501(c)(3) status before the execution of the rental agreement to qualify for a discounted nonprofit rate.
The National Museum of Mexican Art does not rent out space for weddings, baptisms, bridal and baby Showers, quinceañeras, birthday parties, anniversaries and engagement parties, or wakes and funerals.
All events held at the National Museum of Mexican Art are required to have special events liability insurance (minimum of $1,000,000). This insurance must be presented three weeks prior to the event. The National Museum of Mexican Art must be listed as an additional holder on the insurance.
Equipment and Contacts
A variety of equipment and services are available including tables, chairs, podium, sound system, coat check, screen, and more.
The Galleries and Tienda Tzintzuntzán (Museum gift shop) can be open for a fee upon request during the first two hours of evening event.
