Carmen Parra is a multimedia artist. She is inspired by the history and culture of Mexico ranging from Mesoamerican to colonial, to the baroque and architecture. Her works often feature notable elements such as butterflies, flowers, archangels and eagles. The NMMA hosted her solo exhibition, Carmen Parra: Suave Patria in 2015.
