Gabriel Villa is a Chicago-based artist whose works explore transformation, transnational identities and spaces. Originally from the El Paso/Ciudad Juárez border region, his pop style is largely figurative, fluid, and demonstrates a sort of stream of consciousness. Villa was the Director of the Museum’s Yollocalli Arts Reach from 2005 - 2011. The NMMA hosted his solo exhibition, Líneas Borrosas: Selected Artwork by Gabriel Villa in 2014.
