Mariana and Audias Roldan, are master artisans from the Alto Balsas region of Guerrero, Mexico, specializing in painting on amate paper. They learned the art form from their parents and have been painting since childhood, carrying forward a family tradition rooted in their community. 

Their distinctive style, known as “Las historias del pueblo” (Stories of the Village), depicts rural life, wildlife, traditions, and stories from their communities. For more than a decade, Mariana and Audias have shared their work at the National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago.
