Rosario Cabrera was an educator, activist, and a painter. Although her style varied over time, she is best known for her landscapes and portraits that demonstrate her knowledge of color, proportion, and shape. She advocated for the extension of art education to rural communities in Mexico. Her work was included in the 2007 exhibition at the NMMA, Women Artists of Modern Mexico: Frida’s Contemporaries.
