Carlos Cumpián presents Human Cicada

Join us for the release of Carlos Cumpián's latest book of poetry, Human Cicada. 

Carlos Cumpián, a Chicagoan for decades, is a poet and author of Coyote Sun, Latino Rainbow, Armadillo Charm, and14 Abriles. He will be presenting his recently published book of poetry Human Cicada (Prickly Pear Publishing, Santa Fe, New Mexico, 2022). 

His poems and essays have also been included in 30 anthologies. Cumpián served as poetry events advocate and editor/publisher for March Abrazo Press, Illinois' first Chicano, Indigenous and Latino poetry press, and has also worked for various non-profits, and as a veteran high school and university English teacher. He currently is collaborating with board members of the Charles H. Kerr Publishing Company on a summer 2023 release of the Collected Poetry & Selected Art of Carlos A. Cortez Koyokuikatl.
