Common Goals, Common Struggles, Common Ground

February 11 – September 3, 2006

This interactive exhibition, Common Goals, Common struggles, Common Ground, presented a balanced account of historical issues that are common to both the Mexican and African American communities in Chicago. It identified struggles shared by both communities such as the ones found within the civil rights movement of the 1960s and the current gentrification of the Maxwell, Bronzeville, and Pilsen neighborhoods. There was also an interactive component that will allow visitors to respond to the three exhibitions, the discussions of the current events, and the overall issue of race in Chicago.
