Día de los Muertos Where Past & Present Meet

September 27 – December 8, 1996

10th annual Day of the Dead exhibition.

This exhibition demonstrated how this celebration of family and history has been a part of the Mexican culture since ancient times to the present. This year’s Día de los Muertos exhibition included newly excavated pieces on loan from our sister museum in Mexico City, El Museo Templo Mayor. These artifacts helped attest to the celebration’s roots in ancient indigenous cultures of Mexico.
