Día de los Muertos Xicágo

Join us from 3:00 - 8:00 pm as we celebrate Día de los Muertos by transforming the Museum and its surroundings into a beautiful space to remember our loved ones. On this special day, guests can enjoy ofrendas created by community members, live musical performances, art activities, and a large illuminated ofrenda projected outside of the museum.

3:00 pm: Los Gallos
4:00 pm: CASA Folkloric Dance and Music Performance
5:00 pm: José Alfredo 
6:00 pm: CICA Folkloric Dance Presentation
7:00 pm: Tierra Roja

Día de los Muertos Xicágo is free and open to the public and will take place rain or shine.

If you submitted a photo for the illuminated ofrenda you can access the schedule here. Use Control+F to search for your submission. The photos will be displayed in alphabetical order of the first name of the person being honored. The photograph you submitted will be displayed within the time frame listed. Each photo will be displayed for about ten seconds or so. We kindly remind you the times are estimates and not minute by minute exact times. This event is affected by weather as well as the time of sundown. We expect to start projecting images a few minutes before 6pm. 

This event is easily accessible via Chicago’s public transit system. Options include a ride on the CTA Pink Line train, using the Damen or 18th St. stops or take the #50 Damen Bus to 19th St. or the #9 Ashland Bus to 18th St.
