Tenochtitlan visto por los niños de Kanoon

February 4 – March 13, 1994

Gerald Delgado Kanoon Magnet School has sought to intensify the recognition and appreciation of culture as the most important factor of human development. As a result, a pre-Columbian studies class was developed which began in 1991. The fundamental philosophy behind this young adult course was to recognize the importance of all cultures that existed in the American continent before the arrival of the Europeans.

The construction of a model of the Great Temple of Tenochtitlan (Aztec/Mexica capital) and some of the precincts of this ancient city evidences the importance of pre-Columbian studies and at the same time, was a source of great pride for the children, parents, and teachers of Kanoon.
